Join Cyro Baptista as he leads free daily percussion workshops with collaborators Billy Martin of Medeski Martin & Wood and pianist Brian Marsella.
A project of true inclusion, the workshops are open to all and will bring participants together in re-discovering the most ancient form of communication — sound.
Instruments will be provided but you may also bring your own instruments. No musical background required. Workshop will meet daily at the Emerald Grove stage (Rain location: Artpark Gallery).

A veteran of stage and studio work with the likes of Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock, Trey Anastasio, John Zorn, Yo-Yo Ma, Laurie Anderson, Cassandra Wilson, Sting and many others, Baptista is one of the most sought-after players around. His visionary approach to music-making stresses inclusion, community, and pushing past boundaries, while remaining refreshingly fun and accessible.
