Purple, Blues and some summer solstice hues Rocked the harbor!
A buffalo heading for a train or a train heading at a Buffalo, I guess it would depend on the view but I think that the back drop defiantly touched home with Buffalo but no matter how you see it.
That was what covered the back of the stage June 21, 2014 as the canal concert series as Tedeschi Trucks Band took the stage welcoming the beautiful summer solstice at Buffalo beautiful water front opening with “Idle Wind.”
Susan Tedeschi, dressed in a elegantly dark people dress with rhinestones showed that you can play a guitar and belt out some wonderful notes and still look beautiful will doing it.
Derek Trucks,  whom you may have heard with the Allman Brothers Band or in his Derek Trucks Band,  joined his wife on stage.
The Pair started this venture together about 3 years ago and you can feel the passion still strong in the energy as it fills the air with blues and rock.  Other songs played were “Midnight In Harlem”, “Made Up My Mind”, and “Part Of Me.”
Opening for the band was Buffalo’s own Dive House Union.  The Band may have been a replacement for the original opener, but they surely earned the audiences respect from the moment they took the stage about 7pm.  “Swinging like a Hammer” or “Practice what you preach” by the time they band left the stage everyone knew who and loved who they just heard.
Dive House Union, is definitely one of the hottest up and coming Blues Bands in Buffalo and after hearing them I can say I know why.
I highly recommend you give them a listen or and check out!
