Soul singer Charles Bradley’s has been on the rise since the release of his widely praised 2011 debut album No Time For Dreaming, and his ascent has continued long after the release of his triumphant second album, 2013’s Victim of Love.

Dubbed “The Screaming Eagle of Soul,” Charles Bradley and company took to the stage at Canalside to kick off another great season of free music on Buffalo’s waterfront. (see above)

Opening up the evening was Vin DeRosa and the Vitamin D Band:

A few unfortunate incidents, overcrowding, and underage drinking have put the free concert series in serious jeopardy for this upcoming Summer, but we’ll wait and see what changes if any are made.

Hopefully the series can still  be a valuable asset to Buffalo’s amazing live music scene and continue to be an affordable venue to see great local and national live music acts.
