The Tralf Music Hall is hosting the #CourageForGord Fan Fundraiser concert event on Friday August 19 2016. One hundred percent of ticket sales will be donated to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at Odette Cancer Centre at Sunybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, ON. The #CourageForGord Fan Fundraiser event will feature a performance by Buffalo’s own The Strictly Hip and other fun activities for Tragically Hip fans.
Recent news of Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie’s brain cancer diagnosis has had a profound affect on fans and people in general on both sides of the American and Canadian border. The Hip’s decision to tour across Canada in spite of Downie’s illness has become an international human interest story.
The Tragically Hip’s social media fan groups have organized fundraiser events in cities hosting the concert tour. Without a Buffalo stop on the concert tour, Tralf Music Hall and The Strictly Hip will host the #CourageForGord Fan Fundraiser to allow western New York fans to celebrate the music and honor the man. One hundred percent of the ten dollar tickets will benefit the Gord Downie Fund at Sunnybrook. This event is officially endorsed by the Sunnybrook Foundation.
